Mrs. Thiessen

Hi, I am an enthusiastic young Orthodox Christian named Ashley Photini Thiessen who is passionate about supporting families by providing professional services in education and child care. 

 

My own journey to become a teacher and nanny started with a love for learning and connecting with others, and as I worked summer after summer with children and youth, I knew that this was the path for me. However, during my post secondary education and practicums in the public school system, I was disillusioned and saddened by many of the things I saw. Conservative Christian values have been trampled upon in both the universities and the public schools, and the wellbeing of children has been jeopardized in many ways. Students were crammed into big classes and either bored or in desperate need of help. I wanted to help kids truly flourish and grow. It became evident to me that some alternative was desperately needed for our children.

That is why in 2022, after over a decade of experience working with children, I decided to officially launch Thiessen Teaching: a dynamic homeschool support service that can provide quality teaching services for your children that you can trust. In 2023 we expanded to include professional in-home child care options in order to support families looking for a nanny that is uniquely suited to support the academic and emotional development in every child.
